PRESENTATION

The ARCEN-CARNOT (AC) platform centralizes an instrumental park dedicated to nano-fabrication and nano-characterization at the cutting edge of technological development for advanced materials, photonics and biology. The platform also offers research support in the mechanical, electronic and IT fields. With 24 technical staff (from technicians to research engineers) from different branches of professional activity, AC offers know-how on the creation of functional nano-objects and the physico-chemical characterization of multi-scale materials. AC's expertise is available to academic and industrial players and the platform is also a preferred structure for training and teaching, which positions it as one of the most important platforms on the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (BFC) site.

AC benefits from significant support from the Burgundy Franche-Comté region (via numerous financing and co-financing: FEDER, ISITE, EUR EIPHI, COS UBFC platform, etc.) and from the CNRS in its investment projects. It is also a member of the National Network of RENATECH+ TECHnological power plants via MIMENTO (Besançon) and is associated with the Photoemission Spectroscopies Research Federation FR SPE n°2050 via the Surface Analysis service. The presence on this same platform of the Mechanical Resources Center (design and manufacturing of custom experimental devices) and the IT and Electronics Development Center (installation and management of pressure and temperature sensors for example) are major assets because their associations make it possible to develop original tools connected to analysis techniques allowing materials to be put into their conditions of use before characterization (in situ studies).
