PRESENTATION
The development of nanosciences and nanotechnologies at uB is the result of an ongoing investment strategy supported by the Regional Council of Burgundy and the CPER. A major milestone in this strategy is the building of the technological platform, inaugurated in 2009. Implemented within the Interdisciplinary Carnot laboratory in Burgundy, UMR CNRS 6303, supported by the CNRS and the CEA, the ARCEN-Carnot project has provided the campus with the uB in Dijon on the one hand very effective means of characterization of the condensed matter and on the other hand autonomous capacities of micro/nano-fabrication.
Very high performance transmission electron microscopes form the core of the very high resolution material characterization system (ARCEN/CARAC). ARCEN-Carnot is also equipped with other materials characterization technologies that are inseparable from nanofabrication methods: scanning electron microscopes, atomic force microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, optical microscopes with high numerical apertures and near-field optical scanning microscopes.
