the UTBM equips itself with a very high speed impact launcher
Just arrived in the premises of the UTBM (ICB laboratory), this very high speed impact launcher (projectiles of a few grams allowing to go at about 700 m / s.), With a mass of 4 tons, allows to develop research axes around the mechanics of structures subjected to dynamic stresses of the impact type at very high speed and high energy.
Only three systems of this type exist in higher and research establishments in France. This equipment, located on the TITAN platform of the UTBM, notably complements the advanced research equipment of the ICB laboratory team in Sevenans. It will also be used for educational activities (projects and practical work).
