Laser AP Thematic School

Tags :

From October 10 to 14, the Laser AP 2022 will be held, a thematic school on emerging laser applications, in Semur-en-Auxois. This event is organized by the laboratoire ICB and led by Sophie COSTIL, University Professor (UTBM, ICB).

The purpose of this seminar is twofold. On the one hand, it is a matter of providing extended training to doctoral students and industrialists on the physics of laser processes and on the most recent developments in terms of applications; and on the other hand to make a shared point on the activities, the needs and the scientific and technical difficulties of each of the actors, whether it is a research theme or a specific industrial application.

The range of targeted applications extends from well-established macroscopic processes such as continuous laser cutting or welding, to micromachining and surface structuring processes with the most recent ultrashort pulse lasers, via additive manufacturing. by fiber laser. We will also discuss beam shaping techniques and safety issues related to the implementation of laser processes.

The program is structured around 10 thematic sessions, each comprising a reminder of the basics and the physical phenomena involved, a modeling part and an applications part.
