La Nuit de la Physique: Physics & Sport

As part of the Year of Physics, and in view of France’s hosting of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Société Française de Physique, CNRS and CEA are once again launching this operation to mobilize schoolchildren through competitions on the theme of physics and sport, as well as a major multi-site festive evening.

The event will take place on April 2, 2024 at the University of Burgundy (Science Mirande, Claude Bernard amphitheater), and will be organized by the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne.

Program:

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., two lectures on Physique & Sport:

  • “Effect of the tennis racket" – by Dominique Sugny ( University Professor – Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne, University of Burgundy)
  • “Electrodes to make sport accessible to the paralyzed" – by Gaëlle DELEY (uB/INSERM)

8pm, Interactive sequence interconnected with other participating cities: multi-site “Physique et Sport" quiz, reports, winners of the Nuit de la Physique “Physique et Sport" competitions.

9pm, Screening of the film “L’Ecossais volant" (VO subtitled), introduced by Caroline Cohen.
