Mechanical Resources Center (CRM)

The Mechanical Resources Center (machining, prototyping and metallery) is a component of the ARCEN technical platform. The mission of the CRM workshops is to assist research through the design, production and adaptation of various specific scientific equipment. These devices are most often prototypes with no commercial equivalent, designed, manufactured, controlled and installed on site.

These workshops are used by all the laboratory teams, but also by the entire scientific community and other research centers (public or private), university laboratories, CEA, SATT (transfer unit of the University of Burgundy) and private companies.

The CRM plays an advisory role for researchers, teacher researchers, technicians and students of the laboratory. He also participates in numerous ANRs, and European projects.

Our equipment

The workshops produce numerous mechanical parts and assemblies used for uses in vacuum techniques. These are techniques or the rigors of machining, the quality of the welds and the choice of materials used is essential for the rest of the experiments.

Equipment available:

  • MIG-MAG / TIG welding machine
  • CNC milling machine
  • Conventional milling machine
  • 5-axis machining center
  • Conventional tour

Our areas of activity

Vacuum and ultra-vacuum / High pressure / Corrosion Microwave system / Optics / Electrochemistry / Analysis and instrumentation / Laser / Nanoscience / Nanotechnology / Nanobio / Microfluidics / Characterization of powders and materials

Our skills

  • Project management
  • Computer-aided design using Inventor drawing software
  • Conventional turning, milling
  • Digital turning, milling
