ICB post-doctoral fellow rewarded at the international AFM BioMed conference

Tags :

Irma Custovic, post-doctoral researcher at the laboratoire ICB (Nanosciences department) presented the results of two separate research projects at the international conference AFM BioMed (Nagoya-Okazaki, Japan), dedicated to the applications of life sciences and nanomedicine:

  1. “AFM-IR nanospectroscopic mapping od DNA molecules on mica surface", a work supervised by Dr. Olivier Piétrement (CNRS),
  2. “The impact of transmembrane mucin and dietary tannins on the electrical properties of the pellicle of the oral mucosa studied by scanning microscopy", a work supervised by Pr. Eric Lesniewska.

The research work was rewarded with two prizes: Young Researcher Travel Award and Best poster presentation.

The objective of both projects was to investigate the chemical and electrical properties of biological samples underlying the applicability of AFM-IR and scanning microwave microscopy techniques for nanoscale investigations.
