Lucien Saviot est directeur de recherche CNRS au laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne depuis 2010. Ancien élève de l'Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (1989), il obtient un doctorat en sciences de la matière à l'Université Lyon I en 1995. Il intègre le CNRS comme chargé de recherche dans la même université en 1997 puis rejoint l'université de Bourgogne en 2001.

Ses travaux concernent principalement la dynamique vibrationnelle dans les nanoparticules (oxides, métaux, semiconducteurs). En particulier, les modes acoustiques confinés sont étudiés expérimentalement par spectroscopie Raman basse fréquence et modélisés.

Lucien Saviot is a CNRS senior researcher at the laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne since 2010. He is a former student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (1989). He completed his PhD at Lyon I University in 1995. He is a CNRS researcher since 1997 and joined Université de Bourgogne in 2001.

His work concerns mainly the vibrational dynamic of nanoparticles (oxides, metals, semiconductors). His main focus is on confined acoustic vibrations which are studied experimentally using low-frequency Raman
scattering.
