The University of Burgundy is celebrating its 300th anniversary!

Tags :

On September 26, 2022, the University of Burgundy will blow out its 300 candles, and to wait until this date, many events will be stamped in the colors of 300 years throughout this year. The objective will be to make this anniversary a key event in order to make the University of Burgundy better known, its history and its missions. On this occasion, the ICB laboratory joins the university for a festive and convivial celebration.

Once upon a time there was a university in Dijon which was founded in 1722: a faculty of law first installed in the convent of the Jacobins (at the location of the halls in the city center of Dijon). Over time and 300 vintages later, the University of Dijon has become a multidisciplinary university, in the field of research and excellence, ranging from archeology to artificial intelligence, which provides 400 training courses each year. A historic university anchored for 300 years in its territory: Burgundy.

The University of Burgundy now has 3,000 staff and welcomes 35,000 students each year, all spread over six campuses in Burgundy. Since 2014, uB has been included in several leading international rankings (Leiden, Times Higher Education) highlighting the quality of its education and research. Thus, it is among the top 5% of establishments worldwide.

During all these years, the University of Burgundy has been able to see famous alumni (Rachida Dati, Arnaud Montebourg, Claudie Haigneré, Roger Guillemin, Nobel Prize in Physics, Pascal Soares, honorary consul of Buffalo, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, president of the Burkina Faso and many others) as well as personalities who have contributed to improving society in one way or another on our territory, and sometimes beyond.
